On a hot day in the summer of 1971 Mike was born in Lumberton, N.C. At the ripe age of three months, Mike packed up his stroller, diaper bag and pacifiers and headed west. He made it all the way to Fort Worth. After high school, Mike continued his education at Southwest Texas State. He fell in love with Austin and the hill country immediately. After college, he moved back to Cowtown (Ft. Worth to you non-Texans) and began his career in sales.
While working at Gehan Homes in Dallas, he met his best friend, Franchesca. Love at first sight. She happened to be from A-town, so in January 1999, the couple moved to Austin to begin their lives. In October of that year, they eloped to Jamaica, and in 2002, Presley Love came along. Two years and one day later, wild and crazy Carson was born. Familiar with Karma? Mike worked for Aflac for seven years before being given the opportunity to take a year off and play "Mr. Mom." It was a true blessing and very rewarding, but Mike missed meeting new people every day. It was time to get back to work. Mike has been with Rare since January 2008, and he’s loving every minute of it because it allows him the opportunity to meet the heart and soul of Austin — the odd, crazy, eclectic people.
