This California girl was born in San Juan Capistrano, home of the famous swallows. At age 12, her family relocated to Dallas, and Carrie was forced to trade her boogie board for a pair of boots. Raised with horses since the age of three, this cowgirl was destined for the Lone Star State. After graduating from Lewisville High School, Carrie attended the University of North Texas and interned for SixtyFootSpider, an interactive advertising agency, and Epsilon, a direct marketing company. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism, Advertising concentration, and minors in Marketing and English.
After graduation, Carrie packed her bags and headed for the hills. Austin-based agency, Kolar Advertising & Marketing, snagged her quickly, and put her to work on the 3M, Fuddruckers, MADD, Front Steps/ARCH, Sun City Texas, Standard Pacific Homes and Eddie V’s accounts. After five rewarding years at the agency, Carrie decided it was time for a change. Not one to skip a beat, she immediately launched her freelance career, and as luck would have it, caught the eye of Matt, Rare’s publisher. In October 2006, this Austinite for life joined the Rare team and she’s been hooked ever since. Carrie and her husband John have three children (kittens), and they hope to add a new member to the family soon (a puppy).
